Hong Kong, a covid story

January 30, 2020

Everyone has a covid story, as covid spread throughout the world it affected all 8 billion of us. Most covid stories are not happy stories. Lives were strained and stretched as everyone was locked up at home or faced travel restrictions. My covid story is generally a happy story: it kept me in Hong Kong. I was only planning on being there for two weeks, but I ended up staying for four years. Those years have been very impactful years for me on multiple fronts. For example, I was working from home and many new opportunities presented themselves that I could only leverage by really locking in. This is a lot easier when everything is closed and you can't really go anywhere.

In 2021 (a year into covid) I moved to Kowloon, the other side of the bay from Hong Kong island where everyone I knew lived and worked. I lived next to the West Kowloon Art District and spend a lot of time there, looking out towards the bustling Hong Kong island. You'll see that reflected in the pictures here.
